Plans: Harry Sailing Barge

From TadRoberts.ca a boat that seems wonderful to us, but perhaps lacking in broader appeal?  This would be a BIG project, but with a practical and lovely end result.  These big scow hulls give a person a LOT of room.  Images and details below.

HARRY, 26′ SAILING BARGE

Vessel Specifications and Comments
LOD: 26′ 0″
LWL: 24’2″
Beam: 11’0″
Draft: 15” leeboards up
Displacement: 10,715 lbs
Sail Area: 511 sq.ft.
General Comments:  Harry was the first design I ever published, back in about 1985. The boat attracted a good deal of interest from Cruising World and Pacific Yachting readers, and I actually sold a few plans, and made a few variations. One of Harry’s drawbacks was 11’ beam, though creating a wonderfully roomy interior and providing good sailing stability, it is a rather awkward size for the average builder. However, due to interest from a review at the Boat Bits blog, I’m making Harry plans available again.”
