Gluing, Clamping, Cutting, Using Wood Planks for Boats

In this video, the host shows how he glued sections of wood planks together to make a wooden steering wheel.  The information, however, applies to all wood projects on a boat, from shelves, to wood cleats, to… whatever! This could help build comfort in this sort of project on your boat or boat to be.

The YouTube video says, “My Mini-boat series – How to Build a Small Wooden Boat #14 Using regular Plywood, not using marine plywood – Electric Motor Powered – Watch me make the wood boat, underside hull and steering wheel. I show you how I begin making my oak steering wheel for the boat, plus gluing the underside of the hull to begin forming the overall shape of the hull. I had issues cutting the cross grain glued oak planks, but got it cut eventually. I also glue down the port side bottom hull, make a template pattern out of vellum and define the shape of the side fairing on the port side too.”
